Outdoor Climbing:

Rock Climbing is an art and anybody can take this activity as an hobby at any age. It is always suggested that either oneRajan Climbing Marjori Nook near Matheran
should undergo training else practice under the proper guidance before starting this activity. In the beginning one can start with bouldering practice and then actual climbing. For pinnacle climbing (or wall) one can start with easy grade, then medium, and then the difficult grade climb. One should learn the different types of rock for better understanding of the strength of the rock. The most important part is safety. One should never underestimate this kind of activity. One must take 100% safety precaution while climbing like, how safe you are while using a rope which also depends upon one's climbing skill. This is where learning various types of knots and equipment used becomes imperative. Very common types of knots are Figure of eight, Clove hitch, bowline, and also important is how and where to anchor them. There is plenty of relevant information available on the internet too!

Rock climbing combines the focused athleticisms of gymnastics, yoga, and pilates with the intensity of creative problem solving. It develops exceptional core stability, balance, flexibility, endurance, concentratio,n and mental toughness! And it is fun!

There are plenty of climbing opportunity near the areas of Panvel, Karjat, Kasara, Lonavala, and Nashik. The climbing heights range from 100ft-700ft.

Prominent regular climbing practice (training) places are: Borivali-SGNP, CBD Belapur, Mumbra,

Indoor Climbing:

Rajan At Awesomewall LiverpoolArtificial Rock Wall Climbing is now days a challenging sport, more and more young people are interested as mountaineering has became a popular activity. Such artificial walls are not easily available since it costs more money to build as well special material required for making those holds on the wall. In India you can find such wall at IMF New-Delhi, NIM Uttarkashi, Mumbai, and Bikaner. Every year IMF organizes competitions. Since it's popularity is growing more and more in the younger generation, this year atleast 5-6 artificial climbing walls have been build in Mumbai itself. So there is local competition too!

I have been to such walls across the world. The most liked one is the Awesomewall which is in Liverpool/UK near the University. It was the church building converted into a climbing site from inside. There are many routes with various grades including, a small pinnacle of height of around 50ft. In and around Mumbai/Mharashtra very poppular artificial indoor walls are in Gorgaon, Matunga, Pawai.
