Mar 2001 After a long mental workout (Himalayan Trek planning) on saturday, it was late sunday morning our colleagues rang me at home with reference to today's plan. Since Our Himalayan trek plan has to be conveyed to our core members, we have to gather at our gathering point, Borivali National Park. So at 10:00am we three gathered (Milind & Sameer) at BNP Gate & started to move towards Kanheri. Since everybody has some plans today to return back early, I asked them why not to visit Lion Safari & return back since nobody from us had been visited the same place. Everybody agreed & we moved towards a Lion Safari booking center. After sufficient number of people our Safari Bus started with one ticket collector & a guide. As soon the bus start our guide assured us that there is no guaranty to see the Lion Pair & a Tiger. Our enthusiast partner Mr. Sameer whispered with us that we should be lucky one to see those animals. After 15 Min. of travel deep inside the jungle suddenly the Safari Bus stopped with guide announcement to see on left in the cage a white tiger. Everybody within no time turns to left to see the Tiger. Everybody got amazed by the scene especially children's. Wow...., really the restless white tiger with black strips was terrific. Almost 6-7 ft long & 4 ft. in height (approx). After 5 Min. of stop we moved further to Lion Safari. We were thinking of if we can't see Lion then it's waste of our trip. Though everybody was eager to see the animal. & once again we got our complete pay-off by a Lion & Lioness simply standing on the road. Our driver halted for some time but the pair doesn't moved. So our vehicle moved further near to the pair, though the tiger seems to be old & lazy. He didn't bother to move out of the way instead he simply sat on the road. The Lioness moved just out of the road. The act looks like it's daily routine for the pair. We were not that satisfied after the look as compared to white tiger. May be they have lost their aggressiveness, we whispered among ourselves. That was the last animal on the Safari way so we returned back to our starting point. Though we feel that our safari is satisfactory due to the sight of white Tiger, Lion & Lioness; as a Nature Lovers we all feel very pity for those animals since we controlled them. I hope everybody understands the reason, a deforestation. We should do something to avoid or worsening the situation. Avoid deforestation, Grow more trees. Stop Encroachment in the jungle area, Control Population, Save Nature & it's resources. |
